Answer: The application process is entirely online. For Post Codes 01 and 03, you must apply through the official ISRO website (www.isro.gov.in) or URSC website (www.ursc.gov.in) between March 23, 2026, and April 12, 2026. For Post Code 02, candidates must register and apply exclusively through the ISRO Live Register portal (https://liveregister.isro.gov.in/LRClient) by April 12, 2026.

Q2: What happens if I make a mistake in my online application?

Answer: It must be clearly noted that an online application once submitted cannot be edited later. If you need to make changes, you must apply once again. In the case of multiple applications, only the latest application for which the application fee is successfully remitted will be considered valid.

Q3: I am currently working in a government department. Do I need a No Objection Certificate (NOC)?
Answer: Yes. Candidates employed under Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings, or Autonomous Bodies must inform their employer and apply with prior permission. You will be required to submit the ‘No Objection Certificate’ in original at the time of the Interview. Failure to submit the NOC will result in not being permitted to appear for the interview and no Travel Allowance (TA) will be paid.

Q4: Is there a specific marking scheme for the written test for Post Code 01?
Answer: Yes. The written test for Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ consists of two parts. Part A (Discipline Specific) has 80 multiple-choice questions for 80 marks, featuring a +1 and -1/3 negative marking pattern. Part B (Aptitude/Ability Test) has a maximum of 15 questions for 20 marks, and negative marking is not applicable here.

Q5: What are the tie-breaking rules if two candidates score the same marks?

Answer: In the event of a tie during final empanelment, the inter-se merit will be decided sequentially based on: first, the marks scored in the Written Test; second, the marks scored in the essential qualification notified for the post; and third, the Date of Birth, with older candidates placed higher.

Q6: What modes of payment are accepted for the application fee?

Answer: The application fee must be paid online via the Bharatkosh portal/payment gateway. Accepted payment modes include Internet Banking, Domestic Debit Cards, Domestic Credit Cards, and Unified Payment Interface (UPI). Cash remittance, cheques, drafts, money orders, or IPOs are strictly not allowed.

Q7: Can final-year students apply for this recruitment?

Answer: No. Only candidates who have already passed the relevant examinations are eligible to apply. Students who are waiting for their final results need not apply. Furthermore, candidates who pursued their professional course through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) are also not eligible.

Q8: Are travel expenses reimbursed for attending the interview? Answer: Yes, for the interview stage. Outstation candidates shortlisted for the interview will be paid to and fro Second Class or Sleeper Railway fare by the shortest distance, or non-A/c Bus fare, or actual fare (whichever is less) upon production of journey proof. However, Travel Allowance (TA) is not applicable for candidates appearing in the Written Test for Post Code 01.

Q9: What are the guidelines for PwBD candidates requiring a scribe?

Answer: Candidates with Benchmark Disabilities whose writing speed is adversely affected can use their own scribe at their own cost. The scribe’s educational qualification must be one step below the essential qualification prescribed for the post. Additionally, eligible PwBD candidates can get compensatory time at the rate of 20 minutes per hour.

Q10: What is the rule regarding the conversion of CGPA to percentages?

Answer: If a university mentions only CGPA/CPI in its Degree Certificate or marksheet, that CGPA must necessarily meet ISRO’s eligibility criteria. The conversion of CGPA/CPI into a percentage of marks is not permitted to determine eligibility, regardless of whether the university has a conversion formula.
