Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should possess a First Class B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering with a valid GATE score, or a First Class M.E./M.Tech degree in Civil Engineering at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels from a recognized university or an equivalent institution.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Practical exposure to interdisciplinary areas of civil and infrastructure engineering, including but not limited to:
- Development and application of advanced pavement materials such as polymer-modified asphalt, rubberized asphalt, fiber-reinforced mixes, etc.
- Hands-on experience with modern material characterization techniques, including asphalt binder rheology, FTIR, XRD, SEM, DSC, and similar methods.
- Knowledge of road construction practices, quality assurance, and quality control procedures.
- Understanding of vehicle–pavement interaction mechanisms.
- Experience in pavement condition evaluation, monitoring, and performance assessment.
- Ability to perform numerical modeling and analytical studies related to pavement systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment, with strong self-motivation and the capacity to handle demanding research conditions.
- Prior experience in mentoring or guiding undergraduate and postgraduate students in academic or research activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research outcomes clearly.
- Strong competencies in critical and analytical thinking, a proactive and innovative mindset, formulation of scientific hypotheses, structured research planning, and effective problem-solving.
- Demonstrated commitment to organizational skills, result-oriented research, and timely completion of assigned tasks.
- High standards of professional ethics, along with effective research and project management abilities.
- Willingness to travel for field investigations, including site visits and roadway construction-related activities, as required by the project.
